Bob founded Heaton Adams Financial Services, LC in 2001 to broaden the scope of financial planning and investment services for his clients. On July 1, 2014, Heaton Adams Financial Services was renamed to The Heaton Hoppes Group, LLC doing business as Cedar Valley Wealth Advisors (CVWA) to further assist his clients as they plan and invest for the goals of their lives. Bob continues to be a member of CVWA.
Bob was a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Iowa Society of CPAs. In 1995 Bob received the Public Service Award from the Iowa Society of CPAs. He was also a member of the Financial Planning Association.
Bob has served as president of the Waterloo Chamber of Commerce; was co-founder of both Cedar Valley Hospice and Silos and Smokestacks; served as elder of Westminster Presbyterian Church; served a term on the Waterloo Community Schools Board of Directors; and chaired the Waterloo Airport Commission.

Karla received her Associate of Business degree in Accounting/Business Administration from the American Institute of Business (AIB) and went on to earn her Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting from Upper Iowa University.
With 30 years in the financial services profession, Karla advises individuals, families, 401(k) participants and business owners on their financial plans and investments. She is an approved advisor with Dimensional Fund Advisors, maintains a Series 65 securities license, and serves as Chief Compliance Officer for Cedar Valley Wealth Advisors (CVWA). On July 1, 2014, Karla became a partner with Bob Heaton when he formed Cedar Valley Wealth Advisors. Karla also serves as managing member of CVWA.
Karla is a past president of the Waterloo Cedar Falls Chapter of the Institute of Management Accountants (IMA), past co-treasurer of the Hudson Pirate PTO, past secretary of the Financial Planning Association of Eastern Iowa, and current treasurer of the Hudson Music and Theater Boosters.
